Unwanted skin pigmentation can often be severe to eliminate. There are a variety of creams, ointments, and at home devices to choose from, but none of them are every 100% effective. To get the best possible results, you have to go to the experts. At Enlighten Laser and Skin Care, we use the revolutionary Elōs Plus multi-application platform to perform Skin Rejuvenation and anti-ageing treatments (more commonly known as SRA treatments), proven to reduce pigmentation in as little as one treatment.
SRA stands for Skin Rejuvenation Advanced, but it is also known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or Photofacial. It is used to safely and effectively fade or erase areas of unwanted pigmentation. Our trained professionals use Syneron Candela’s Elōs Plus system to perform SRA treatments. This application platform allows us to use multiple different SRA applicators in a range of sizes. With this, we can cover larger areas in less time, as well as tiny, hard to reach spaces that a bulkier application head could not reach. SRA combines the technologies of IPL with bipolar radiofrequency (RF) to achieve deep into the dermis to isolate the pigmented area treated, ensuring all surrounding skin is unharmed. The gentle pulses of these two energies allow for a better result, with the lowest possible amount of energy used, assuring a safe and comfortable treatment.
There are two ways in which SRA treatments work. The first is for darker pigmentation, in which the laser is attracted to the discolouration and draws it up and eventually out of the skin. The second is for any unwanted redness. In this case, the laser is attracted to the hemoglobin and heats the small veins until they retreat into the skin. These methods work for a variety of different skin concerns, all surrounding hyperpigmentation.
SRA is highly effective in treating skin issues such as uneven skin tone, sun spots, age spots, melasma, birthmarks, brown spots, red spots, broken blood vessels, spider veins and even fine lines and wrinkles. It is also a useful tool for those who suffer from acne, as the laser can kill bacteria that leads to severe breakouts.
The procedure is quick and relatively painless. There is no significant discomfort or downtime. Patients can get back to their daily lives immediately following treatment. We recommend that you avoid sun exposure four to six weeks post-treatment, as the skin will be more sensitive to the UV rays. It is also important to wear sun protection daily, following treatment. Depending on what we treat, results can be noticeable after just one session. Most patients require two to four treatments, usually spaced at least three to four weeks apart. Our professionals will work with you and your schedule to determine a plan of action to ensure your SRA treatments are most active.
Scarring can occur for a multitude of reasons and can take on many different forms. Whether you are dealing with textured scars left over from acne or pigmented scars from a cut or incision, they all leave their mark on the skin (and your confidence). Although scars can fade over time, they were seemingly permanent Syneron Candela’s advanced technology.
At Envy Laser, we rely on Syneron Candela’s advanced Elos Plus multi-application platform to administer safe and effective Skin Rejuvenation Advanced (SRA) treatments, also known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or Photofacial. This non-invasive, laser treatment is successful in treating both textured and pigmented scars: acne scars, incision scars, burn scars, and more. Elos Plus includes a range of applicator sizes, giving us the ability to treat scars of any size or colour.
When removing the pigmentation of scarring, SRA treatments work in one of two ways. For darker pigmentation, the laser attracts the discolouration up and out of the skin. For red pigmentation, the laser targets the hemoglobin and heats the small red veins until they retreat back into the skin. Both methods show visible results in the days following treatment.
This method of pigmentation removal can work on a number of skin concerns that surround hyperpigmentation. Those who suffer from uneven skin tones, sun spots, age spots, melasma, birthmarks, brown spots, red spots, spider veins, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, can all benefit from SRA treatments. In addition to smoothing out textured skin caused by acne scarring, SRA can also help with active acne on the skin. The laser energy has the ability to gently kill acne causing bacteria, making it a great addition to any skincare routine.
After the quick treatment is administered to the skin, daily activities can be resumed. We do recommend clients avoid sun exposure for the next four to six weeks, as skin will be extra sensitive to the harsh UV rays. When direct sunlight can’t be avoided, sun protection is imperative. An SPF of at least 30 should be applied and reapplied to the affected areas if sun exposure continues. Depending on size and severity of the scarring being treated, results can be noticeable after just one treatment. Full results for most clients are achieved after two to four treatments, each spaced at least three to four weeks apart. Our professional laser experts work with our clients to create an individualized treatment schedule that best suits their skin.
